Zoetrope → YFALA | Greek cinema under the surface
Yfala is a screening series that seeks to bring to light unknown or lesser-known films of Greek cinema, with a focus on non-typical cinematic works. Films that veer off course and expand the possibilities of the filmic medium through personal, non-conventional, and atypical cinematic dialects. Each screening reactivates these scattered cinematic traces and, in the presence of the filmmakers, places the works in the here and now – opening up a dialogue around cinema as experimentation, gesture, and a space of inquiry.

ZOETROPE is an artist-run space based in Athens, devoted to collaborative artistic practices, co-learning, and transdisciplinary experimentation. ZOETROPE'S programming is wide-ranging, with a special focus on films, photobooks, and archives. ZOETROPE'S mission is to catalyze the creation of intimate and inclusive creative communities. ZOETROPE's identity wishes to remain fluid and open, less of an artist-run space and more of an ongoing experiment. In short, ZOETROPE is a place yet to become. |
