Mouries collective → Performance — Vessel of Pollinators
Saturday October 11, 18:30 ─ 21:00
Performance at Strefi hill
Location: Strefi Amphitheater
Vessel of Pollinators, as an oracle of knowledge, is a reflective performance piece emerging from a year-long course and journey hosted by artists Fourthland. The collective work has explored an attunement of the inner and outer senses as part of the surrounding ecosystem, working with each other and the ‘more than human world’ as a creative community. The practices have enabled the group to connect with their inner abundance in order to craft their own mythology and role as part of the collective. After a week-long residency together, the performance intuitively layers these diverse parts, sculpting with bodies, objects and sound, a momentary experience of the ‘vessel of pollinators' - the pollen of magic that nourishes the collective. Audiences are invited to be with the piece as a meditative exploration of the collective heart. Participants: Fourthland, Mouries, Kirsty Whiten, Patricia Brien, Telma Atunes, Magi, Aga Tamiola, Cat Rogers, Sarah Dark, Jessica Eichman, Annabie Daly, Mireia Bes, Serazer Pekerman, Clare Car-Saunders |
We, Mouries Collective, are a fluid and interdisciplinary group of female artists, researchers and therapists based in Athens, Greece. Originally gathered due to our common interests in healing and divination practices, we recently focused on developing connections with trees, plants and the diverse beings with whom we share this planet. We are now working under the theme of healing and (e)merging women’s knowledge while refining our collective processes. We engage through encounters and workshops that are multi-media, inter-sectional, inclusive, creative mixes, either intervening in public space or exploring group dynamics through the framework of care. Mouries first came together as a collective project in May of 2021. At this time we are Isabel Gutierrez Sanchez, Maria Juliana Byck, Thalia Dimitropoulou, Vasilikí Sifostratoudaki and Eliana Otta. |
