ististist.project → Exhibition opening — Staff Only. POV

Wednesday October 8, 18:00 ─ 21:00

Stefanos Koutroulis’ multimedia installation “Staff Only POV” invites viewers into an intimate exploration of daily life through the lens of a café worker. By reprocessing snapshots from his everyday experiences, excerpts from group conversations with colleagues, playlists, graphics, fictional social media posts, and video snippets from bartending shows, he transforms familiar images, sounds, and thoughts -the mundane moments of everyday life that often go unacknowledged- into aesthetic objects.

Blurring the lines between life and art and challenging the perception of value and significance in the daily interactions, he invites viewers to reflect on their own relationships with the spaces they inhabit, the fleeting encounters that shape their lives.

Set against the backdrop of Athens' dynamic urban landscape—marked by gentrification and overtourism— "Staff Only POV” utilizes the personal narrative as a lens to understand broader socio-cultural dynamics. The exhibition positions the artist’s work not merely as a reflection of individual experience but as a form of resistance, acknowledging the power of the collective experience amidst a rapidly changing world.

ististist project is a multidisciplinary artistic platform, founded by Anna Stroulia and Elias Tsolis in Athens, in October 2020, as a non-profit organisation. Ististist project's practice focuses on the interaction of art and education, investigating the correlation between artistic

creation, research and knowledge.

Ististist project's projects take the form of artistic events, collective artworks and educational workshops in cooperation with schools, institutions, collectives, art professionals and friends in Greece and abroad.

Since its establishment, ististist project has collaborated with independent artists and institutions such as The Museum of Modern Art (Odessa, UKR) and has received the grant and funding of the Greek Ministry of Culture for its educational programs TheCommonLand Project, Rap-up up and ToRizoma.

The creation of new narratives that include different diversities, the interrelationships amongst different species of all living beings, the symbiosis of technological and traditional tools and the social dynamics in the Anthropocene era are some of the research subjects that are set in focus.
